Antique Jean Pouyat (JP) Limoges Art Nouveau Teapot – France


An exceptional antique Jean Pouyat (J.P.) Limoges porcelain teapot dating to the Belle Époque period (circa 1895–1915). This rare example features raised sculptural gilt branch handles and finial, a luxury design reserved for Limoges’ highest-grade export wares.


The teapot is decorated with hand-painted green laurel garlands encircling the body and lid, framed by thick gilded borders. The gold application is heavy and dimensional — not transfer — indicating hand-finished studio decoration.


Marked on the base with the green “J.P. over L / FRANCE” underglaze stamp used by Jean Pouyat for fine export porcelain.
