Beautiful Antique Limoges Hand Painted Cabinet Plate – Signed A.G. Kroes
This exquisite 8.5-inch J.P.L. Limoges France porcelain cabinet plate features a richly detailed hand-painted design of purple and red grape clusters, framed by a stunning Art Nouveau gold scroll and spiderweb amongst gilt lattice border.
The plate is artist signed A.G. Kroes, a recognized early 20th-century American decorator whose work appears on high-end Limoges studio pieces from the 1900–1915 period. Kroes’ pieces are known for their exceptional shading, realistic grape forms, and delicate gold scroll work — all evident on this example.
Backstamped J.P. L. France (Jean Pouyat Limoges), this mark dates between 1891–1932, most commonly associated with premium blanks used for export to U.S. studios such as Kroes.
